In 2002 a group of us who wanted to utilise public spaces for exhibition purposes founded Stranded Exhibitions in London. The core of members Rebecca Harris, Dorothy Szulc and Ana Vicente and myself is extended by a slowly evolving group of associates.

Stranded Exhibitions is a group of dynamic membership and expanding practice dedicated to creating exhibitions of contemporary artmade especially for and inspired by a specific place. We work together in a way that seeks to expand the sensibilities of each artist to the space and fulfil the potential of each artist’s practice in the space. As one of us is a blind artist, we have found that the sensibility of the group is extended in an exciting way, through sharing experience of touch, vibration, sound and vision in the space. We each have a different approach and the work of each artist is not constrained to meet a norm. Ultimately, only the space holds the group together in an aesthetic as well as physical frame for the work.
